Numerous figures and anti-corruption activists sent an open letter to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
One of the signatories to the letter, Zainal Arifin Mochtar, explained that his background, among others, is the concern regarding cases of corruption.
"The bottom line is played like the corrupt countries, lawyers can play the legal process, as if destroying the KPK," said Director of the Anti-Corruption Assessment Study Center Gadjah Mada University, when contacted VIVAnews.com, Saturday, August 20, 2011.
He added that the letter is also a support to the Corruption Eradication Commission's work. In addition, the President also asked to protect citizens from the policy that is not siding with the people. "It is important to remind, there are steps to be taken, policies are hard and strong," he added.
